The little update of updates. Horses can be locked!

Hello everyone, today I bring you great news!

You can now lock your horses to stop people riding them and stealing them. The plugin also stops players from killing your horses.

How to use:
Once you have tamed and put a saddle on a horse, you have to do the command /ht lock. Then sit on the horse you want to lock. EASY!

In other news, we have updated to Spigot. This is an optimised version of bukkit which has already proven its worth. Less lag for everyone! Although mob spawn rates seem to be...varied.

The post of many updates!

Hey everyone, first of all. Sorry for not updating the blog that much, I'll explain why further on.

1. Lately I've been looking for a job, with moderate success, in the terms of getting interviews but not actually getting the job. Anyway. With Sorvius back, the MGI force will probably return. We still hope to get the competitions going but since I've been so busy I've never got around to arranging anything. Hopefully Sorvius can help with that.

2. With 1.6 being released next week there are a few things to mention. First, awesome work to the people who have been digging at the Global Horse Highway.  Much appreciated.

The NETHER, ONLY, will be regenerated. When the server updates, the old nether will be deleted to let it regenerate, for the new strongholds. (Since that's how you get armour for your horses). If you have any possessions in the nether, go get them now.

If you use the OPPCraft Launcher you wont need to worry about the updating. When the server updates to 1.6 (Which we hope will be the same day...if not it might take a couple days) the launcher will update to 1.6 when the server is running 1.6.

1.6 is a big update, in terms of gameplay mechanics. This will slow the bukkit updating process. If you want to continue playing on the server, don't update your Minecraft right away, or at least have a backup of your current version. Alternatively you can use the Launcher.

It is currently in the Beta stages with it's Alpha tools slowly being moved over. It runs Optifine HD and Reis Minimap.

Me and thosam have some good plans for this. The ALPHA version has the server map built in and we're hoping to get it to link into your OPPCraft accounts. Making trading and events more easier to arrange. So if you still haven't got it, get it! I've personally looked over all the coding and it doesn't store your password or send it to a database for keepings. Global Horse Highway [G.H.H]

Hey everyone, we've decided to create a highway for horses, which will appear in 1.6. It will span the entire map from spawn to the edges. (6000 blocks in each direction). It will also have beacons every 200 blocks with Speed2, to keep the horses running faster.


If you fancy helping out, go to the coordinates "0 64 0". Choose a direction and start digging!

Road Pattern




Rules
  • Road has to be 5 blocks wide.
  • Road has to be 4 blocks high (Avoid suffocation).
  • If a jungle biome is approaching, dig UNDER it...go down to Y: 50 until you're out of it.
  • Bridge over gaps that will be higher than 3 blocks. EG: Rivers.
  • The highway ground block has to be CLAYBLOCKS.
    • Although it doesn't at this stage.
  • When applicable, you can make the road mold/form to the terrain, if it's not too sharp. (Flatlands, Desert). Instead of carving a horrible line through it. Although try to remain near on Y:64.
  • If you bump into someones property, dig down to Y:54 under it.
  • If molding to terrain use stone-brick slabs to go up terrain. Pic below

Server offline until further notice

The server has suffered a little harddrive issue, for safety reasons to avoid corruption I've turned it off until the issue is resolved. There is no ETA on this. Sorry.

Everything is fixed, finally...now to clean up the mess.

The SQL problem has been resolved but the mess is huge. It's going to take all of today and possible tomorrow to fix all the issues and reset the plugins.

For now, everyone except staff are a [Temp] rank...this will allow you to do your home teleports and at least build. For now.

If you were the [R] rank,, this whole temp rank wont really affect you.

Sorry for all the hassle but hey, it's fixed! *dies*

Server Downtime

Service has been restored! ^^



Hello everyone, as of this post. The server is currently down due to a disk drive failure. The host has been contacted and they are currently fixing the problem. Once they have tested the new drive is functioning properly the server will be back up.

There is no known ETA on the server being back up.

Server UPDATE!

Hello everyone, today I got angry at vanilla redstone, so after looking around I stumbled upon the wireless redstone plugin link here.

I have to say this plugin is excellent! Allowing you 1 input to multiple redstone channels...been having so much fun on creative with this. It is available for Flyer+. Go have fun with it! It's awesome.

To create a Transmitter.
> Place a sign.
> 1st Line: [WRt]
> 2nd Line: Channel name (Can be anything).
>Power the sign.


To create a Receiver.
> Place a sign.
> 1st Line: [WRr]
> 2nd Line: Channel name (If linking to a transmitter, has to be the same name as that.)
> Once the transmitter is power this sign turns into a redstone torch.

Server Updates and More!

Hello everyone. It's been a while since I gave this blog a good update. So I will now commence operation give you all information...bad.

Online Map

Yup it is now back online! You can visit it using the [Online Map] button above ^. Due to the update to 1.5.1 there is now a division of ocean between the old and new terrain generation. I have opted to keep this in place and will slowly work on it, by smoothing the edges, effectively the whole world is now an Island. With a "Great Divide" to the next shore. I hope to see some awesome bridges spanning this divide!

Your very own protection plugin!

I have installed a plugin which allows you to place a block, this creates a region around the block which links to your character. This means only you, or whoever you let into the region, will be able to build/destroy/interact within that region. This great plugin is available to [F] Flyers+ (Since we don't want just random people coming in and randomly placing protected zones everywhere).

The plugin is called: Protection Stones.

The config has changed from the default blocks. (All extend from bedrock to sky limit).
  • IRONORE = 5 Block Radius Protection. (11 x 11 area protection).
  • LAPISORE = 10 Block Radius Protection. (21 x 21 area).
  • GOLDORE = 20 Block Radius Protection (41 x 41 area);
  • EMERALDORE = 50 Block Radius Protection (101 x 101 area).
  • SPONGE = 100 Block Radius Protection (201 x 201 area) (Only given for big cities or competition prizes.)

Features

TNT is disabled inside the region.
No one (except the region members) can interact with redstone, doors etc...

How to use?

Size up the area you want to protect (Protection Stones stack and overlap). If you have a building that takes up a 40 x 40 block area, place a GOLDORE block in the center to protect the whole building at once.

How do I let friends build in the region?

You stand within the region you want them to be a member of and use the command: /ps add PLAYERNAME

Server Reunion


Good day everyone at OPPCraft.

With the new release of 1.5 the staff would like to offer an invitation for a little reunion on the server this Saturday. Come on by, if you can, around the times 6 - 10 PM (GMT). 2 -7PM(Est). Although the activities can carry on for longer after these times.

With the new redstone changes I'd like to suggest a redstone related competition. We would like to get a few games running.

- Classic spleef.
- Build competitions.
- PVP.
- Lotteries.

All with prizes to be won. A few up for grabs are: Free donator rank for the server, game of the winner's choosing, in server items and more.

Regret to inform you all...

The corruption wasn't fixed. Most of the unexplored chunks are buggy, making the server crash over time.

I had to start a fresh clean map. For those who are wondering. I can move houses,buildings, villages (Including their contained chests) if I can load into their chunks.

Just contact OPPDelta ingame. There's most likely going to be a big queue for buildings to be moved over so don't expect yours to be moved over in an instant, but it will get done, if it's possible.

I truely am sorry for this, but this one was out of my hands completely. Even after reviving some of the corrupted chunks more just appeared.

State of the server...

UPDATE

After many hours (Because I like you all!). I think...I've got rid of the corruption. Uploading the map back to the server tonight...this might take a while...

Due to the host f**king up the server's harddrive quota, about 300+ chunks have corrupted in the world, which in turn has caused the world file to become unstable. As of now, the current world....is pretty much lost.


I can try and move buildings over to the new map...but this is a huge crash and since the backups will be corrupted as well. I'm, unfortunately going to have to say, the server will be running a new map as of this post going up.

I'm so soooo sorry about this but it was out of my hands.

Server downtime

The server is currently down, if you haven't already noticed, due to a file write permission error, thing...(Descriptive!).

Basically, the files the Minecraft server is located in are not writable. This is host problem and a support ticket has been made. We'll just have to wait.

Juke-Boxes...What happened?

As of now, you cannot remove or place JukeBoxes on the server, if you want one removed, tough...there is a big glitch with them that is resetting chunks.


This mainly affects mac users but occasionally happens with Windows users as well. If a jukebox is broken the chunk it is placed in has a very high chance of regenerating, making you lose your progress in that 16x16 area.

Server Update and Factions

Hello everyone!

We bring you excellent news and hugs! After many hours of testing the server now has a modified version of factions installed. Please read all of the info below, if you still have questions left please talk to OPP in-game or leave a comment to this post.

Currently there are 4 setup which you can be invited to:

    • Feyyore
  • Goofy Goobers
    • MonkeyxNathan
In order to join a faction you need to be [R]Registered and must contact one of the leaders of the factions either whilst they're online or through P-Email:  "/mail send NAME Hi I wanna be in your faction".

So, is this a factions server now?

Absolutely not, even though the factions plugin has been installed, not everyone can create a faction. (Read below for the requirements to create a faction). The reason it was installed was for the small groups of people who have been forming to have the ability to protect their lands from the randomers that join the server. This will hopefully reduce the amount of "OMG, I GOT GRIEFED" hassle. At least from the majority of the members.

Do I HAVE to join a faction to play?

Nope! The server is still running the way it was when it first started, the 'factions'part is for communities to form which will allow for trade between factions and friendly competition. 

Does this mean PVP is now on in the map?

PVP is still globally turned off, but OPPDelta and Daracon have plans for that in the near future. Keep an eye out ;)

I want to create a faction!

WOOT! It's great that you want to form a small community but there are some minimum requirements for creating a faction area. Here's the check-list:
  • You need a minimum of 5 members willing to join ([F] rank or above).
  • Founder must be Donator or above rank.
  • 64 diamonds between your members (More members, easier this is).
  • A town/city or spawn platform that already takes up a 100 x 100 area.
    • Or at least a plan/blueprint in MSPaint of your buildings.
  • Your faction HAS to be at least 600 blocks from the nearest faction border.
  • You must  have a spawning area for people to warp to. 
    • Either a faction home building or warp pad.

How do I join a faction?

You have to ask the owner of the faction. They will either say yes or no and send you an invite. Once you recieve this invite you use the command /f join FACTIONNAME enjoy! To leave a faction you do /f leave.

I crash near spawn! - FIXED! (I hope)

Hello everyone! I've finally tracked down what was causing the disconnect.overflow error that's been plaguing the server the past week.

It appeared to be the anti-xray auto updating to build of bukkit that the server wasn't running. Causing incompatibilities

This should hopefully now be fixed (After experiencing it myself) after spending most of the night tracking it down, since I knew what the errors were in more detail.

New Water World!

Today OPPCraft brings you the latest expansion to the server. We are currently setting up a new side world that is survival and totally under water! The hope is we can create a mega underwater city. It is currently available to [D] Donators and (Once setup) members of the Engineers guild from our MGI friends.

World Information

  • Survival.
  • Inventories between the main world and water world are shared.
  • 600 x 600 in size, for now.
  • Donators+

Creative Spleef Voting Is Now Up!

You can now vote on the arenas! Simply click the submission that you like and "LIKE" it on the actual video. Voting ends on Monday at 12PM EST / 5AM GMT.






The server is lagging! Fix it!

The server is currently pre-rendering the terrain, because of this the TPS has dropped dramatically. (Near to 9 TPS atm). Ironically, this generation is to stop any future lagg.

There's a couple more hours left of the generation. Once it's done, it's done!
